First nations arts program

At Dexus, we are committed to Indigenous engagement and partnering with First Nations peoples to create a lasting, positive impact and sustainable tomorrow. As a real asset group managing assets across the country, we are uniquely positioned to collaborate with our First Nations partners, customers and communities to advance our vision for reconciliation.

In FY25, we marked NAIDOC Week and National Reconciliation Week with a series of events across our platform that celebrated and deepened understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories and achievements.

The theme for NAIDOC Week 2024, “Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud & Proud”, honoured the enduring strength and vitality of Indigenous cultures, passed down through generations despite adversity. Our assets hosted a diverse range of cultural activities including art displays, traditional performances, storytelling, and cultural workshops. A standout event was held at North Shore Health Hub, which hosted its first creative workshop where customers painted boomerangs with Dreamtime stories, fostering deeper engagement with First Nations culture and practices.

At 25 Martin Place, we launched a First Nations Arts Program in collaboration with Boomalli Aboriginal Artists Co-operative and the celebrated artist Dennis Golding. To further engage our employees, Dennis visited our Sydney head office to share insights into his work and lead interactive art workshops, offering a meaningful opportunity to learn about Aboriginal culture through creative expression.

Since 2018, Dexus has proudly supported the Australian Literacy & Numeracy Foundation (ALNF) by hosting annual book collections across our assets. During NAIDOC Week and Reconciliation Week, we amplify this support by encouraging contributions to ALNF’s Share-A-Book Campaign, alongside financial donations, across our office, industrial and health assets.

Through these activities, Dexus continues to promote reconciliation and support First Nations peoples, using our assets as platforms for education, celebration and meaningful engagement.
