Sustainability
Unlocking the potential of real assets to create lasting positive impact and a more sustainable tomorrow.
Our sustainability strategy
Sustainability is embedded into the way we do business, focusing on our three priority areas alongside our foundations.
Our sustainability strategy is integrated into our investment and property management approach with alignment across our platform, providing a clear and consistent framework for applying our strategy to funds and real assets.
Our priority areas will create greater sustainability impact and unlock more commercial value by leveraging our core business activities and assets to focus on what matters most - our customers, climate and communities.
Customer Prosperity
We support the prosperity of our customers through the investment, design, development and management of real assets. We collaborate with our customers to improve customer satisfaction, support our customers’ sustainability aspirations and aim to enhance the wellbeing of individuals and communities who visit and use our buildings.
Climate Action
We are focused on accelerating the transition to a decarbonised economy while also safeguarding and advancing our people, assets, property and financial returns. In doing so, we will decarbonise and increase the resilience of our real assets by investing in renewables and initiatives that lead to better climate outcomes.
To achieve this, we aim to:
reduce energy and water intensity by 10% across our managed office portfolio by FY25 against a 2019 baseline
continue to maintain net zero on scope 1 and 2 emissions for our managed portfolio
establish the next iteration of our Climate Transition Action Plan to support our 1.5-degree decarbonisation journey across our value chain
continue to procure 100% of electricity from renewable sources across our managed portfolio in line with our RE100 signatory commitments.
Enhancing Communities
Through inclusive and accessible design and placemaking, and investment in infrastructure that creates social value, we aim to create local connections for healthy hearts and minds in the communities around our assets and investments.
We work with community organisations with local knowledge and deep expertise to deliver on our goal of enhancing communities. We create local connections for healthy hearts and minds through our partnerships with Black Dog Institute, Australia’s only medical research institute that investigates mental health from childhood to adulthood, and headspace, Australia’s National Youth Mental Health Foundation.
Through these partnerships we support the wellbeing of our employees, customers and communities.
