We strive to provide inclusive spaces at our assets and in our operations. Our retail centres are local gathering places, and we want every customer to feel safe, supported and welcome when they visit. This year, we introduced two nationally-recognised inclusion programs across our retail portfolio: the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Program and the ACON Welcome Here Project.

The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Program is a global initiative that helps people with non-visible disabilities — such as autism, anxiety, chronic pain or sensory sensitivities - signal they may need additional time, patience or assistance. Customers can choose to wear a Sunflower lanyard, badge or wristband during their visit, available free of charge at customer service desks, and trained centre teams will recognise the symbol and respond with empathy and support.

The ACON Welcome Here Project supports businesses to create visibly inclusive environments for LGBTQ+ communities through staff education and the display of rainbow Welcome Here signage throughout each centre. Together, the two programs reflect a consistent, portfolio-wide commitment to inclusive placemaking.

All retail teams received training to deliver both programs, achieving more than 80% accreditation across program-specific modules, with training extended beyond centre teams to support a consistent customer experience from all staff at our assets. These programs complement other inclusive design initiatives across our retail portfolio, including sensory-enabled and accessible play spaces at Ocean Keys in Western Australia.

By embedding inclusion into how our centres are operated and experienced, we are reinforcing our commitment to enhancing communities and creating local connections for healthy hearts and minds.
