At Dexus, we are committed to preserving and enhancing biodiversity across our portfolio. Recognising the environmental footprint of our industrial assets, we are implementing nature-based solutions that contribute to healthier ecosystems and more sustainable developments.
A standout example is the Dunes Drain Works at our industrial site at Distribution Drive, Truganina. This newly constructed wetland is designed to treat storm water runoff into Laverton Creek while enhancing the local ecosystem through extensive revegetation. By capturing and filtering pollutants, the wetland plays a key role in protecting downstream environments and creating a habitat for a variety of species.
More than 200,000 plants have been established at the site, including 50,000 wetland and aquatic species. These plantings span over 40 indigenous plant species, carefully selected to support local biodiversity and improve ecological health. The integration of native vegetation enhances habitat quality and resilience for a for a diverse range of wildlife.
This project reflects our broader commitment to responsible, sustainable development – going beyond mitigation to actively contribute to the health and vitality of the natural environment surrounding our assets.
At Dexus, we are committed to building a more inclusive property industry by inspiring the next generation of female leaders. Through our long-standing support of the Property Council of Australia’s Girls in Property initiative and our own Future Leaders in Property (FLIP) program, we are helping young women see what is possible and empowering them to pursue it.
The scale of our portfolio provides an opportunity to support First Nations businesses through strategic procurement decisions. In FY25, we established several strategic partnerships that not only deliver high-quality services but also contribute to meaningful outcomes for First Nations communities – aligning with Dexus’s reconciliation commitments.
Since inception in 2019, Tribe has been a driving force for LGBTQ+ inclusion at Dexus, championing initiatives to foster a workplace culture that is inclusive, visible and supportive. In recognition of these efforts, Dexus was awarded Bronze Employer Status on the Australian Workplace Equity Index in FY25 – the national benchmark on LGBTQ+ workplace inclusion.
