In FY14 Dexus employed 276.0 FTEs (Full-Time Equivalent) employees, of which 133.5 FTEs, or 48% were female. Workforce statistics by region, employment type, and employment contract broken down by gender can be found in the 2014 Performance Pack.

Dexus offers a number of employee benefits in line with contemporary Australian market practice. Benefits are offered regardless of full-time or part-time employment status, but may be pro-rated in the case of leave and life insurance benefits which are based on the employee's regular salary level.

Temporary employees engaged via a labour hire agency or contracting agreement receive benefits from their primary employer, the cost of which is factored into the hourly rate or service fee paid by Dexus.

Temporary employees are not eligible for the following benefits: leave benefits, life and disability insurance, membership to the corporate discount program, study assistance.

Labor/management relations

LA4 Percentage of employees covered by collective bargaining agreements. Zero. Dexus does not have any collective agreements as all employees are employed under individual contracts which comply with the National Employment Standards.
LA5 Minimum notice period(s) regarding significant operational changes, including whether it is specified in collective agreements.

Notice periods at Dexus vary depending upon level of seniority of the role. The position of CEO must provide 6 months' notice of intention to resign and Executive General Management Committee members must provide three months' notice of their intention to resign from their respective positions. The minimum notice period for termination of employment is two weeks' during probation and one month notice once ongoing employment has been confirmed.

Occupational health and safety

LA6 Percentage of total workforce represented in formal joint management-worker health and safety committees that help monitor and advise on occupational health and safety programs.

Zero percent. As Dexus employees are largely office based, they are not exposed to a large OHS risk.

Dexus has formally elected Health & Safety representatives as opposed to an OHS committee.

LA7 Rates of injury, occupational diseases, lost days, and absenteeism, and number of work-related fatalities by region and by gender.

In FY14, there were six OH&S incidents reported by employees, with no lost time from injury, resulting in an injury rate (IR) of 2.20 and lost day rate (LDR) equal to zero. Absentee rate (AR) is also zero.

Occupational disease rate (ODR) is zero and not applicable as employees are not engaged in areas subject to these risks.

The system of rules applied in recording and reporting accident statistics include Australian Standard 1885.1, Workplace injury and disease recording standard.

None of Dexus's employees are working in roles that are considered to have a high incidence of serious disease.

Dexus has appointed an Employee Assistance Program service provider, for use by Dexus employees and their immediate families free of charge and anonymously.

LA9 Health and safety topics covered in formal agreements with trade unions. Dexus does not have any collective agreements as all employees are employed under individual contracts, and therefore does not have any formal agreements with trade unions.

Training and education

Employee performance reviews encourage individual goals for vocational and other training. Sabbatical leave and periods of approved leave without pay form part of Dexus's leave policies.

Through the corporate superannuation plan, Dexus provides access to financial advice and transition to retirement planning services.

Dexus provides career and job placement services to those employees made redundant in addition to severance payments provided under the Dexus termination policy.
