Dexus celebrates contribution of women in property at 2017 Excellence in Agency Awards

Dexus celebrated the contribution of the real estate community to its successful performance over the 2017 financial year at the 24th Excellence in Agency Awards, held last night in Sydney.

Property agents from around Australia attended the awards ceremony which recognised the contribution of the agency community towards successfully concluding leasing and property transactions on behalf of Dexus or its third party clients over the past financial year.

Dexus CEO, Darren Steinberg, said: “With a portfolio of 127 office and industrial properties spanning 3.6 million square metres across five states around the country, this year’s strong portfolio metrics would not have been achieved without the support of our agency partners.”

The event also celebrated the contribution of women in property with the presentation of the Female Agent of the Year award, awarded to Rachel Vincent at CBRE.

Over the past two years the number of Dexus deals transacted by women has tripled to 23%. When Dexus launched the Female Agent of the Year award in 2015, they intended to make an impact on women’s participation in property leasing and transactions.

Recognising Dexus’s commitment to gender diversity, Chris MacKenzie, Chair of Dexus’s Diversity and Inclusion Community said: “We’ve been on a journey to introduce initiatives and targets that encourage us towards a gender diverse and inclusive workforce, and are proud of our achievements this year at Dexus which include achieving gender pay equity in like-for-like roles, reaching our initial target of 33% senior females in management, and winning the best workplace flexibility award in Australia for 2017.”

“We have a role to play in supporting the diversity agenda, and recognising gender diversity in teams will continue to be a key consideration for us when appointing agents,” he added.

The winners of Dexus’s Excellence in Agency Awards for 2017 were:
